From cookbooks by BEM Books & More to Hawaiian condiments from Poi Dog Sauces to Japanese knives from Kikuichi Cutlery, you’ll find the perfect present for the culinary lover in your life. In addition, at this makers market you will be supporting an array of incredible local small businesses that are women-, minority-, and LGBTQ+-led. Along with the curated selection of retail items, there will be treats, warm beverages, and door prizes.

BEM | books & more is a literary destination at the intersection of food and Blackness. Established by two sisters in January 2021 as an online bookstore, we are proud to serve as a home for readers, writers, cooks, and eaters passionate about Black cultures in all their diversity. Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.
James Beard Foundation events permit guests age 21 years and older to attend events where alcoholic beverages are served.
