Born and raised in Calexico, California, chef Aaron Lopez is the heart and soul of Ursa, a contemporary Sonoran restaurant located in El Centro, California. With an evolving menu, every detail of the restaurant is created with intention, and is a direct extension of chef Aaron's heritage. Through Ursa, Aaron and his wife June shine a light on their beloved community—from the foragers to the seed savers—and the unique landscape that provides them with endless inspiration. At this extraordinarily special dinner chef Aaron, an alumnus of the James Beard Foundation’s Chef Bootcamp for Policy and Change, will transport diners to the desert landscapes and foodways of the southwest, and those cherished indigenous ingredients which he honors.

Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.
James Beard Foundation events permit guests age 21 years and older to attend events where alcoholic beverages are served.
