Join us for an unforgettable evening as renowned chef Marcus Samuelsson and chefs Rasheeda Purdie, Fariyal Abdullahi, Tristen Epps, and pastry chef Camari Mick come together for a spectacular dinner celebrating the legacy of legendary chef and cookbook author Leah Chase. Known as the “Queen of Creole Cuisine” Leah Chase was a champion of civil rights and a pivotal figure in the culinary world.
Chef Samuelsson has credited the significant influence Chase had on his Harlem restaurant Red Rooster, where art, music, and dining are united. Together with his team, they created a unique multi-course menu that reflects their admiration for Leah Chase as a pioneer and her enduring impact on the culinary landscape.

Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.

James Beard Foundation events permit guests age 21 years and older to attend events where alcoholic beverages are served.

Reservation Policy:

All reservations are non-refundable and must be made in advance. Should the event be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, including COVID-19, JBF will offer a range of options, including ticket exchanges, the option to donate tickets, or a full refund.
