In the 1950s, an American physiologist living on the Cilento coast in southern Italy took note of the extraordinary health and longevity of the people who lived there. The "Mediterranean Diet" was spawned and health researchers continue to be fascinated by Cilento. Join us for a special evening with chef Mario Stellato of Pietre who will craft a stunning five-course dinner that tells the story of an ancient land that continues to be re-imagined in modern and innovative culinary ways.

Tickets to events held at Platform at Pier 57 by the James Beard Foundation cover the cost of food, education and a unique dining experience. Meals are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. Unless otherwise stated, alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.
